Dr. Jon Jampel
Dr. Jampel is a licensed psychologist with a mission to help clients change in the ways they desire. Born in the Boston area, he attended Clark University and received his PhD in Clinical Psychology. During graduate school, Dr. Jampel completed a trauma-focused predoctoral internship at VA Connecticut in West Haven. He then went on to complete a post-doctoral residency at The Mindfulness and Change Group, specializing in the treatment of anxiety and OCD-related disorders, as well as PTSD/trauma. Outside of his private practice, Dr. Jampel is a Staff Psychologist at Massachusetts General Hospital and Instructor in Psychology, Part-time, at Harvard Medical School. In this setting, he works collaboratively with providers and utilizes evidence-based therapies to treat adult outpatients.
Over the past decade, Dr. Jampel has also been extensively involved in psychology research. His graduate studies focused on men’s mental and physical health, where he was privileged to learn from experts in the field of gender studies. As such, Dr. Jampel incorporates his expertise in men’s issues as needed during treatment.
Approach
In my practice, I strive to help clients set individualized goals to make changes in valued directions. I also recognize how tremendously challenging it can be to change one’s life. I’m dedicated to working patiently with you in order to achieve your objectives. It is my believe that growth is best facilitated when therapy feels safe and validating and I will work hard to create this type of environment for you.
